THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY

A year of service.
A lifetime of stories.

In August 1965, a young Army lieutenant left for Vietnam. Over the following year, Bill Park wrote 70 letters to his family — an honest account of long days, unfamiliar places, and the work of a war.

His parents kept those letters. Six decades later, his son Theron brought them together with Bill’s photographs and recollections to create Hard, Dirty Work.

Now, those words become a documentary.
A way to know the man behind the uniform.
